I was tired of half-good themes with some icon from the Mac OS and others from some Crystal theme. So I decided to create my own theme based on what I like.
The "Ultimate Gnome" it's an icon theme for the GNOME linux desktop environment. It is a distro independent theme tested on Gnome 2.24.1 completely drawn with Inkscape. Every icon is drawn in a vectorial format (SVG/XML), and it is exported into a raster format (PNG) for fastest rendering on the screen. The work is published under a GPL (v2), hoping this will help those developers who need a GPL license to include this theme in their software.

As i browse to the directory i want to save my pic in, all pictures in the directory are displayed in the window. The load time for this is longer compared to the human theme for example.
Has anybody else experienced this?

The png images weight more, but they're simply buffered and easy displayed.
The SVG icons are "rendered" there is more CPU usage with a completely SVG theme.
I'm thinking of adding all the PNG subformats but with the all PNG subformats it becomes a bit difficult to change or modify an icon in the theme (for a common user) because you have to export all the PNG from the modified SVG file.

Newmoon, I hope you take him up on that suggestion. Cimi's new Murrine with transparency would look great with the Ultimate Gnome icons, and I'm eager to see how they look together.

I'll add an ubuntu-logo icon (maybe something blue).
I don't know what to do with the folder colors, have I only to add orange folder or to create a brand new theme with all the icons colored in orange.
(Sorry for my english)

Could you change add an icon for the small logo of your OS (like ubuntu's circle thing, in the top left corner, next to "applcations".)
I love this theme, but the orange ubuntu doesn't fit with the blue icons. My last theme had a blue ubuntu logo. Anyway, keep up the good work! :)
